Bob & Ratio

Ratio homework today we had to pick one picture and write part to part, part to while, part to part to part and part to part to whole ratios about it.

This is the picture I chose.

Part to Part Ratio

green to blue - 6 : 1

red to yellow - 6 : 4

blue to yellow - 1 : 4

Part
to Whole Ratio

blue to total 1 : 17

red to total - 6 : 17

green to total - 6 : 17

yellow to total - 4 : 17

Part to Part to Part Ratio

green to blue to red - 6 : 1 : 6

yellow to green
to blue - 4 : 6 : 1

red to yellow to green - 6 : 4 : 6

Part to Part to Whole

blue to green to total - 1 : 6 : 17

yellow to red to total - 6 : 6 : 17

red to blue to total - 6 : 1 : 17

After we did all that we had to make up 3 questions.
Mine were...

1) What is the ratio of red and blue to total?
2) What is the ratio of red to green and yellow to total?
3) What is the ratio of green to blue?

COMMENT!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

For our BOB2 we have to put what our mistakes were on the test.

The first question I got wrong was 8.

A picture frame has a width to length ratio of 5:7. If the width of the photo is 9 cm, the length of the photo is..

I
put C) 14cm
The correct answer was B) 12.6cm
I didn't get this correct because I didn't know how to figure out the length of the photo.
I will remember that you have to find out what you multiplied to get from 5 to 7 so you can multiply 9 by that number to get the correct answer.
put C) 14cm

The next question I got wrong was 14.

What percent ( to one decimal place) of the group prefers toasted 0's?

I put 15.1%.
The correct answer was 21.4%.
The reason I got this wrong was I used a ratio table and I divided wrong so I got a different answer. An easier way to get 21.4% is to just divide the amount of people that like toasted o's by the total amount of people.

The next question I got wrong was 15 A)
Write each ratio in lowest terms
8 : 32

I put 1 : 8
Correct answer 1 : 4
I got this wrong because I didn't check over my work well enough.

The next question I got wrong was 17.

Use the data in the table below to determine which sports-teams have equivalent scored by to scored against ratios.

Scored by Scored Against
Baseball Team A 10 5
Basketball Team A 115 92
Hockey Team A 6 4

I did this question completely wrong because I was trying to find out equivalent ratios for every team, when your suppose to find out equivalent ratios for every team than see which teams have the same equivalent ratio.

The correct answer was baseball team a and basketball team b.

After we put what we did wrong we had to change the numbers in the question and answer it in our comments.

1) Use the data in the table below to determine which sports-teams have equivalent scored by to scored against ratios.

Scored By Score Against
Baseball Team 4 2
Hockey Team 9 18
Football Team 89 188

2) What percent ( to one decimal place ) of the group prefers cats? Prefers Cats to Total People
20 : 82

I think you mispelled " whole " Instead you put " while "

sorry for the last question being a bit big it says 2) What percent ( to one decimal place ) of the group prefers cats? 20 people prefer cats and there is a total of 82 people

1)Baseball Team 4÷2= 2.0
Hockey Team 9÷18= 0.5
Football Team 89÷188= 0.5

That means hockey team and football team have the same equivalent of score by to scored against ratio.

2) 20/82=24.3%
