a) hockey puck
b) chocolate bar

c) jewellery box

5. Draw a net on grid paper for a rectangular prism with the following measurements:
- length is 6 units
- width is 4 units
- height is 2 units

8. A box of pens measures 15.5 cm by 7 cm by 2.5 cm. Draw a net for the box on a piece of centimetre grid paper. Then, cut it out and fold it to form the box.

Scribepost Feb. 17 2010 Foldable

For the foldable we had to write and do everything in the Key Ideas

Key Ideas

- A mimimum og three views are needed to describe a 3-D object.

- Useing The Top, Front and side views you can build or draw a 3-D Object.

1. Raina is sists that you need to tell her all six views so she can draw your object. Is she correct? Explain why or why not.

A) shes wrong becasue you only need 3 sides becasues two sides are always equal.

2. Are these Views corrrect?

No becasue the from what the front view tells me, the top should be the bigger shape.
So the side view is supost to be the top.

Thats all for today.

YOU WRIGHT THIS IN THE SECTION:

5.1 VIEWS OF THREE DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS

Damian H's percent scibe

Hello if anyone reads this my job was to make a scribe about 3 question from pages 148-153 or I would fail grade 8 math.

I picked question 4, 10, and 13 on page 148-149.
{Q4} The question is find the total cost including 5% GST and 7% PST on
  • 2 Binders at $4.99 each
  • 1 Math set for $3.99
  • A backpack for $19.99
To find the answer I added tax on all the items individually then added all the items+ tax on each item together which gave me the answer $38.04.

  • 2 Binders at $4.99 each x 1.12(tax) = $5.5888
+
  • 1 Math set for $3.99 x 1.12(tax) = $4.4688
+
  • A backpack for $19.99 x 1.12(tax) = $22.3888

=                                       $38.04

101% equals 2 hundred grids
589% equals 6 hundred grids
1450% equals 15 hundred grids

Question 3.

Hey Guys and Girls, for scribe today all we had to do was show 3 questions from class today.

Question 4 (page 148)
Chris purchased the following items:
2 Binders for $4.99 each
1 math set for $3.99
a backpack for $19.99
find the toal cost inculding 5% GST and 7% PST.
So i started by adding all the subtotals together

$4.99+$4.99+$3.99+$19.99= $33.96
5%+7%= 12%

$33.96x 1.12= $38.04

Question 4 (page 150)
How many hundred grids are needed to show each of the following percents?
A) 101% = 2 hundred grids
B) 589% = 6 hundred grids
C) 1450% = 15 hundred grids

Question 10
What is the cost for four tires that sell for 85$ each, plus 5% GST and a 1.5 environmental tax?

first I found the total of 4 tires, which is $340.
Then I found the taxes by doing this:
$340 x 1.065 = ?
I used a calculator and got ...
$362.10 !

I hope you liked my scribe, I know the work isnt the greatest, but i try. Please leave a comment and i might do the same to you ! PEACE .

Mary Jane's Scribepost for February 3, 2010

Question #4 (page 148)

Chris purchased the following items:
• 2 binders at $4.99 each
• 1 math set for $3.99
• a backpack for $19.99

Find the total cost including 5% GST
and 7% PST.

What I did:

$4.99 x 2 = $9.98
$9.98 + $3.99 = $13.97
$13.97 + $19.99 = $33.96

Now you have to add the tax which was 12% when you add 7% PST and 5% GST together.

The total cost would now be $38.04 with the tax.

Question #6 (page 148)

A store discounted items by 50% off the
original price one week. The following
week an additional 10% was taken off the
already reduced price. The regular price
of a CD player was $85.00. What is the
reduced price in the second week?

What I did:

Regular price = $85.00
50% off the original price one week
additional 10% after reduced price from the first week

After finding 10% of $42.50:

$42.50 - $4.25 = $38.25

The reduced price after the second week is $38.25.

Question #10 (page 149)

What is the total cost for four tires that
sell for $85 each, plus 5% GST and a
1.5% environment tax?

What I did:

each tire = $85
tax = 6.5 % (5% + 1.5% = 6.5%)

$85 x 4 = $340

The total cost for 4 tires would be $362.10 with tax.

Thanks for reading my post !

A) Total Tax = $14.40
Total Cost = $134.39

B) Total Tax = $10.80
Total Cost = $100.79

C) Total Tax = $4.80
Total Cost = $44.79

D) Total Tax = $22.80
Total Cost = $212.79

To get the total cost I multiplied the original price by 1.12 and got the answer.
To get the total tax I subtracted the total cost from the price and got the tax.

Question 10

What is the total cost for four tires that sell for $85 each, plus 5% GST and a 1.5% environment tax?

85 + 5.525 = 90.525
