Noel's 2 Minutes To Make a Difference Reflection
CHANGES
We have made alot of changes in our final video and those are : adding voices , putting different pictures and we made our video alot shorter than before and many more . This small things made our video alot better but we still got good comments in our rough draft and they told us how to make our video better and what we need to work on . I think some of our pictures that we added in our final cut was better than the old video and it really helps to show more meaning to what was happening in cambodia so it will be alot easier to understand .
EXPERT
We tried finding people that we could talk to about our topic and We sent soo much emails and some of them didnt reply and some of them told us that they dont have time and that they were too busy but they told us they would love to help us but just couldnt make time for it .
SUCCESS
I think that my greatest success in this project was gathering and getting information about our topic so we could make a video and also getting pictures to help poeple show what we mean while we talk in the video . but i think the video was our greatest success and we cant ask for more we found it easy because in our final cut we knew what to work on and what to make changes on and we really thank those people who commented on our first draft and helped us to make our final video better .
FRUSTRATION DURING THE PROJECT
one thing that really irritated my group and having problems on was getting an expert because they were all busy and we didnt really solved this problem and another thing that we had problems with was doing our first video because we really had to rush it , we didnt had enough time to make our first video good because everyone was kind of busy with family , sports , meetings and we solved this problem by making schedule and making plans ahead of time
IMPORTANCE
The 2 minutes to make a difference is really important to us because it is only a matter of time till we actually make a difference and if we dont the earth would just come to a point when everything is really messy and messed up , I think that everyone should really start caring about the earth and actually caring about those people on the other side of us who has been struggling ever since they were born .
HOW WILL I MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FUTURE ?
we could hand out fliers and create a websites on child labour , DONATE stuff that you will not use in the future but still would be helpfull to others and you could donate this to UNICEF , donate money even small amount would mean alot for those people who are in needs , Donating stuff such as clothes , foods toys , money and other stuff that would be helpfull .
SMALL DEEDS COULD MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE !

Noel's Percent Scribepost
Question 10 Pg 149
What is the total cost for four tires that sell for $85 each, plus 5% GST and 1.5% environment tax.
I found the total for the four tires which was $340.
Then I found 1% of 340 = 3.40.
3.40 x 6 = $20.40
0.5% = 1.70
1.70 + 20.40= $22.10
340 + 22.10 = $362.10
The total for the four tires is $362.10.
Question # 4
How many hundred grids are needed to show each of the following percents?
a)101%= 2 squares
b)589% = 6 squares
c)1450%= 15 squares
Question 4 Pg 148
Chris purchased the following items:
-2 binders at $4.99 each
-1 math set for $3.99
-a backpack for $19.99
Find the total cost including 5% GST and 7% PST.2 binders $9.98 + 1 math set $3.99 + a backpack $19.99= $33.96
Now you have to find the added taxes which is 12%.
I found 10% first which was $3.40.
Then I found 1% which was $0.34.
0.34 x 2 = 0.68
3.40 +0.68 = 4.08
33.96 + 4.08 = $38.04

Noel's Pay it forward
Part One
The movie pay it forward is an good inspiration to everyone, Pay it forward means making a difference in the world. It doesn't matter if its not that big It will also help you realize that the bad things that you have been doing needs to stop, otherwise it will all get worse. Paying it forward means that if you help one person then that person will help 3 more people and it will keep on multiplying and multiplying.
Part Two

My Pay it forward act of kindness was putting cards in people's mailboxes and after I went to put cards into some random cars and after that I went to my backlane to pick up garbage. I only put one picture each act of kindness because the other picture was really ugly and blurry. I did all of my act of kindness yesterday thats why I didn't go to school yesterday. I had no one to go with and my group went to do their activity when i had provincials so i had to do it by myself.
Part Three
My act of kindness went really well because i took my time to do each of it and i had lots of time to do it.It felt really good when you do something good you just get this feeling and it feels good.people didn't really saw me doing my act of kindness only my brother and my mom because when i did all of that no one saw me . I would ask them to pay it forward but no one saw me doing it .
Today I went with justin and riemer to salvation army to donate clothes and just check outjustin's blog.
Part Four
The Idea of pay it forward is really important because lots of people are doing so much bad things these days and when you pay it forward the people you helped will help another person untill everyone do so much good things instead of bad things. I think my act of kindness will make a difference soon but not yet because I just did it yesterday, It will take time for people to help someone or to change.

The power of proportion!
I was walking to school, when I saw a UFO land on my school. I ran inside and saw that the aliens were holding Mr.Harbeck hostage, then he yelled. "Noel, save me with your proportion skills." Then I replied, "Don't worry Mr.Harbeck, Noel is here!" So then i grabbed a text book and yelled out the following question:
Delia was paid $35 for 5 h of babysitting. How much should she receive for 3 h? Use a unit rate to find the answer.
This is what I did:
I got to the unit rate per hour, that looked like this:
5h/5=1h
$35/5=$7
So then I got $7/hour.
I then had to get the $ for 3 hours:
1h x 3 = 3hours
$7 x 3 = $21
I saw that one of the tenticles that were holding Harbeck got loose, and it only had 2 tenticles left. So I hit him with another question:
David can saw a log into three pieces in 7 minutes. If he continues sawing at a constant rate, how long will it take him to saw a similar log into 6 pieces?
This is my answers:
To get from 3 pieces to 6 pieces you would have to double it, so I just doubled 7 minutes to get 14 minutes.
Then I noticed a liquid falling onto Harbeck's head, it was the aliens eyeballs. They melted so I decided to give another question a shot and it would die. Here was the last question:
Two quarters has the same value as ten nickels.
What is the values of five quarters in nickels?
Here's what I did:
I used a unit rate to find the answer to this question.
2 quarters / 2 = 1 quarter
10 nickels / 2 = 5 nickels
then I followed up with this;
1 x 5 = 5 quarters
5 x 5 = 25 nickels
Once I finished that sentence the alien exploded and the room was covered in green goo. Harbeck then thanked me and pressed on the intercom; "Office, Can you get Moses down here to clean this up."
THE END!

Noel's %%%%% rate growing post
In class we were told to make a part one and of two part posts
Definitions:
Ratio- Compares 2 things of the same quantity
Rate- Compares 2 quantities measured in two units
My Questions
Trever rode his mountain bike 84 km in 3h. Jullian rode 70 km in 2.5 h. Who is the faster cyclist? How do you know?
answer- they both ride there bike at the same speed 28km/h
4. Determine the unit rate in each situation
a) An orca swims 110 km in 2 h.
2h/2=1h 110 km/2=60 km/h
b)A Canada goose flies 800 km in 12.5 h.
12.5h/12.5=1 800/12.5=64km/h
c)Cathy plants 45 daffodils in 30 min.
30min times 2= 1h 45 daffodils times 2= 90 daffodils 90daffodils/h
PART 2
For homework today we had to find out how much ingredients we would need to make spaghetti sauce that is able to feed 10 people. We also had to find the ingredients for 1 person.

To find the ingredients for 10 people you had to multiply the ingredients by 2.5 because 4x2.5 = 10 people.

Ingredients to feed 10 people.
1 1/4 lb ground beef
2 1/2 medium onion diced
2 1/2 celery finely sliced
2 1/2 clove of garlic
35 oz can of tomatoes chopped
1 1/4 can of tomato paste
2 1/2 tsp parsley
3 3/4 tsp basil
2 1/2 tsp oregano
2 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/4 tsp Worchestershire Sauce
1 1/4 tsp seasoning salt
2 1/2 bay leaf
Ingredients to feed 1 person.
1/8 lb ground beef
1/4 medium onion diced
1/4 celery finely sliced
1/4 clove of garlic
3.5 oz can of tomatoes chopped
1/8 can of tomato paste
1/4 tsp of parsley
0.375/7.5ml tsp of basil

Noels's BOB on graphing
Things I know about graphing
1) Line graphs are best for showing changes in data over time.
2) Double bar graphs are best for comparing two sets of data across categories.
3) Bar graphs are best for comparing data.
I could've finished my assesment on time, coloured bars, label the graphs, and wrote a concluson.
