Kenneth's percent Scribepost for Feb 7

A few days back, we were asked to do 3 questions (any) from page's 148-150.

Question 4 Pg 148

Chris purchased the following items:
-2 binders for $4.99
-1 math set for $3.99
-a backpack for 19.99
Find the total cost including 5% GST and 7% PST.

What I did was that I added all 3 of them to make $33.96.
I also added 5% GST and 7% PST to make 12%
so I multiplied $33.96 x 1.12 = 38.04

Question 4 (pg 150)
How many hundred grids are needed to show each of the following percents?
a)101% = 2 hundred grids
b)589% = 6 hundred grids
c)1450% = 15 hundred grids

Question 10 (Pg 149)
what is the total cost for four tires that sell for $85 each, plus 5% GST and 1.5% environmental tax.
First I multiplied $85 x 4 = $340 because the question said "four" tires, after that i started multiplying $340 x 1.065 = $362.10

please leave a comment. and sorry it was late. This is me and my 4 people and i don't have the other one yet.
