April's scribepost for Oct.12,2009

For homework Mr.Harbeck gave us a math question about the coin jar. He said to pick 1 purple and 1 any colour besides black.

1. How much do the coins add up to?
All of the coins in the jar add up to $100.

2. Would the jar look the same if it was Canadian money?
I think the jar would look a bit different, because Canadian money has different types of coins and different colours.

Thanks for reading my post. Please comment, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING. :)

PART TWO

Well, we know that the jar was 3/4 full when it had American coins in it. If we replace the American coins into Canadian coins, the jar will seem as if it has less coins in it because American coins didn't have toonies or loonies. So if we fill the jar with Canadian coins, I think that it will only be 1/4 to 2/4 full.
