In class we are suppose to define the different kinds of ratios:
  • Two term ratio
  • Three term ratio
  • Part to part ratio
  • Part to whole

Two term ratio-A ratio is a comparison between two quantities of the same kind.

Ex. a:b or a to b

Three term ratio-use to compare quantities of the same kind.

Ex. A:B:C or A to B to C

Part to part ratio-compares different parts of a group together

Ex. a/b or a:b

Part to whole ratio-compares one part of the whole
