Sharmaine's Scibe post for Nov.18




In class today, we had to find what prime numbers, perfect squares, prime factors, and factors are.

What are square numbers? ( perfect squares )
The product of a whole number multiplied by itself
Ex. 49 = 7x7


What are factors?
A whole number which divides evenly into a whole number without a remainder.
Ex. the factors of 16- 1,2,4,8,16


What are Prime Numbers?
A whole number greater than 1 that only has two factors, 1 and itself.

Ex. prime numbers- 2,3,5,7,11,13, etc.



What are Prime Factors?
Factors that are prime numbers.
Ex.10: factors- 1,2,5,10
prime- 2,5


Factors: 1-12

1- 1,1
2- 1,2
3- 1,3
4- 1,4
5- 1,5
6- 1,2,3,6
7- 1,7
8- 1,2,4,8
9- 1,3,9
10- 1,2,5,10
11- 1,11
12- 1,2,3,4,6,12
