Tina wants to construct a path along the diagonal of her yard. What Length will the path be? Express your answer to the nearest tenth of a metre.






a 2 + b 2 = c 2
6 2 + 12 2 = c 2
(6x6)+(12x12) = c 2
36 + 144 = c2
The square root of 180 = the square root of c 2
13.4 = c

The length of the path is 13.4 m

Alt 0178 (press and hold alt while you press 0178 on numpad.) That's how you get the squared symbol.
