Brayden's Surface Area Growing Post

Rectangular Prism:

Formula to find the surface area of a rectangular prism.

A = l x w

Top
A = l x w
A = 4 x 5
A = 20cm²

Front
A = l x w
A = 4 x 3
A = 12cm²

Side
A = l x w
A = 3 x 5
A = 15cm²

TSA = 20 + 20 + 12 + 12 + 15 + 15
TSA = 94cm²

Triangular Prism

Formula To find the surface area of a triangular prism

A = L x w and A = b x h ÷ 2

A = L x W
A = 3 x 9
A = 27 cm²

A = B x H ÷ 2
A = 3 x 2.6 ÷ 2
A = 7.8 ÷ 2
A = 3.9cm²

TSA = 27 + 27 + 27 + 3.9 + 3.9
TSA = 88.8cm²

Cylinder
Formula to find the surface area of a cylinder

π d = C
π r² = A

C = πd
C = 3.14 x 9
C = 28.26cm

A = π r²
A = 3.14 x 4.5²
A = 63.585

Area of a Rectangle

A = L x W
A = 28.26 x 55
A = 1554.3cm²

TSA = 63.585 + 63.585 + 1554.3
TSA = 1681.47cm²
