Jamie's Four4's Math October 13, 2009.

For homework, we were asked to find out what the similarities and differences for these two equations.

Similarities:
  1. Both equations equal up to 2.
  2. Both use the number 4 four times.
  3. Both use division to get the answer 2.

Differences:

  1. They use division differently.

So this means, both equations are exactly the same, it's just the division sign that they use, makes it so different.

Thank you for reading my post, and please leave a comment!

scribepost for the four 4's , October 5, 2009 , Larrisa8-17

the similarities: they both equal the same.

the difference : the first one is the normal way which you just write in the division and adding , and the second one is they did it in fraction way.

sorry if the font is big.

Layton's four4s october 13 2009

For homework we had to find similar things in

(4/4) + (4/4)
and (4÷4) + (4÷4).

The similarities:

-they are the same question.

-they both have brackets in them.
-they both have four 4s.

The differences:

-they have different symbols.

Noelle's Four4's Math October 13, 2009

Hello Everybody,

This is my post and my work for the four 4's homework. You can get any number from 0-9 using only 4 fours. This is my work for each sum:

ANSWERS FOR 0:
44-44=0
4+4-4-4=0
4-4-4+4=0
(4-4)/4X4=0

ANSWERS FOR 1:
(4-4+4)/4=1
4X4/4/4=1
(4+4-4)/4=1

ANSWERS FOR 2:
(4X4)/(4+4)=2
(4/4)+(4/4)=2

ANSWERS FOR 3:
4+4+4/4=3
(4X4-4)/4=3

ANSWERS FOR 4:
[none at the moment]

ANSWERS FOR 5:
(4X4+4)/4=5

ANSWERS FOR 6:
(4+4)/4+4=6

ANSWERS FOR 7:
44/4-4=7

ANSWERS FOR 8:
4+4+4-4=8
(4+4)X4/4=8
4X4-4-4=8

ANSWERS FOR 9:

Four 4's October 13/09

For homework we had to find similarities between (4/4) + (4/4) and (4÷4) + (4÷4).

In my opinion I believe they are the same because they go through the same steps to get the same answer.

eg.

(2
÷2) = 1 whole pie
(2÷2) = 1 whole pie
1 whole pie + 1 whole pie = 2 whole pies

2/2 = 1 whole pie
2/2 = 1 whole pie
1 whole pie + 1 whole = 2 whole pies

They go through the same process and have the same answer that's why I believe they are the same.

Justine's four 4s

Similarites:
- The same question
- The same answer

Differences:
- Different symbols

I think that the "/" is the same at the other sign beacue there both showing that your dividing. People normally think that this "/" is only used for fractions, BUT ITS NOT.You can use them for dividing and for fractions.

The Four 4's:

For homework we were asked to find the the things these two equations have in common and the differences.

The similarities:

- both equations equal the same number.

- both use the same number of operations

-both use the number four, four times.

The differences:

- the division sign is used differently in each equation

Conclusion:

Both equations are saying the same thing but they both are using the division sign differently.

The Four 4's .

4-4/4x4=0
4x4/4-4=0

Similarity :
- they all have four 4's .
-they both equal the same .

difference :
- they use different operations .
- it's somewhat switched around

The Four 4's
Our math homework was to show the differences and the similarities from these 2 equations:
the similarities:
- they both equal the same number
- they are using the same operations

the differences:
- the only difference that I see is that the first is using a fraction to divide while the other one is using the division symbol

This is the scribepost for te four 4's . sorry it's really late :)

4-4/4x4=0

4x4/4-4=0

The similarities are :
- same question
- both of the questions equal 0
- both questions are using four 4's .

The differences are:
-sorted out differently.
-different operations

The Four 4's Oct.14 2009

Similarities:
They both use the same equations

Differences: Both of them do not equal 4.
The first picture equals 4 but the 2nd picture doesn't.
Because I calculated it and the second picture equals 1.25.

We could make it equals 2 by adding brackets.

Four 4's

There are several similaries .- Like when two math questions have the same answer.

There are several differences in the answer.
-They are both set up differently
-Both equal the same number though

I'm going to tell u about the 4 four's

4 4
-- + -- = 2
4 4

4/4 + 4/4= 2

The similarities are:
- Both have 4 four's
- they both equal to 2
- they both divide

The differences are:
they have different order of operation and a different kind of problem.

Scribepost for October,13,09

I am going to do a post for the 4 fours.

4 4
-- + -- =2
4 4

4/4 + 4/4 =2

The similarities are:
They both equal 2.
They both have 4 fours.
They both divide.

The differences are :
They have a different kind of problem.
They also have a different of order operation.

The four 4's October 5th,2009

There are several similarites like

-both equal same number
-both use division symbol , but showed it in a different way.

There are several differences aswell

- both set up differently
-different ways of usinf the diviion symbol.

THE FOUR 4's

Our homework for today is to explain how these two equations are the same.

The division sign is just like making a fraction so you break it up. The fraction sign then replaces the division sign.

Sorry this was late too!
Please comment.
Our homework today was to find out the differences and similarities of these equations:

The similarities:

- They both have the same information.

- They both also equal the same thing.

The differences:

- They are written differently.
- They both also use different Order of Operations.

SORRY, THIS POST IS PRETTY LATE.

Ralphs 4 Fours Scribe

Sorry I uploaded this post really late.
What we were suppose to do for homework was explain how both of the equations were the same.
The similarities are that:
- They both equal the same number
- The signs both mean the same thing except show differently
Sorry it was late !
Please Comment Anyway !

Our homework for today, was to convince the audience how the 2 equations shown above are the same.

The similarities are :
- they both equal the same number
-The division symbols mean the same thing, but are shown in two different ways.
they go through the same steps to get the answer

I'm sorry if this is not that big of a scribe.

Anyways please comment!
